Five questions from
aredridel:
1. What's the most deeply spiritual moment you've had?
Several spring to mind. Since I have to pick just one, I'll go with the time I got lost in Vancouver, BC and crows chased me for three blocks and left me on the doorstep of the house I was staying at. When I came back outside, there was a huge black crow feather lying on the steps. It was the most profound moment of my life -- it gave me the sense that someone truly is taking care of me.
2. What's one thing you think about every day?
Besides stuff like "Did I remember to brush my teeth?" and "Where are my shoes?", I suppose I think about whether what I'm doing now is going to make the payoffs I want happen down the road. That is, I think a lot about the long-term consequences of my actions, particularly when people or animals are involved. I spend a lot of my day thinking like a horse trainer -- figuring out what actions I need to take to plant the seeds to make the changes in myself and people I love happen gracefully.
3. What's the thing you love most about your family?
Um... they don't go away no mattwe what dumbass thing I've done. They always get my jokes. They're my safety zone.
4. Where in the world do you want to visit most? Why?
The answer to this changes on perhaps an hourly basis. Right now, the middle of the ocean, because it would be interesting to be so profoundly alone and yet at the same time, always accompanied.
5. If you had a year with no pressure to do anything, and could do whatever you wanted, what would you do?
I'd spend a year living with the wild Caspian ponies in the southern shores of Iran. There's so much to learn about life, and I learn it best with horses.
Now if you comment, I will ask you five questions.
